Motichoor Laddoos we need for all the auspicious occasions. How about making these at home and be sure we can eat it without any guilt of not knowing what type of items used in it...
So lets try making at home. Recipes given below.
Ingredients.
Besan - 250 gm
Sugar - 225 gm
Orange Food colour 1tsp (depends on Brand)/
Ghee - 550 gm
Melon Seeds - 2 tsp (Optional)
Almonds and cashew chunks - 2 tsp (Optional)
Iliachi Powder - 1 tsp
Water - 225ml and some more water to make batter
Process...
1) Make sugar syrup... Put sugar and water together in heavy bottom bowl on fire.
2) Let it boil till u get 1 thread consistency.
3) Sugar syrup consistency is very important for these Laddoos so be very careful it should be 1 thread consistency only (No more no less)
4) Now keep it aside.
5) Now make a thick batter with Besan and water and put colour in it mix it nicely.
6) Batter consistency should be of little looser than of cake batter.
7) Now heat the Ghee in kadai, it should be nicely hot.
8) With the help of perforated ladle make boondi in the Ghee and Fry it.
9) Pls be careful don't make boondi crisp or don't overfry them.
10) It will take hardly 30-40 sec to fry boondi.
11) Add fried boondi immediately to sugar syrup.
12) Stir and mix well. Boondis would become nice and soft.
13) Now take a hand blender put 2 tbsp of hot water in boondi and sugar syrup mix. Give 3-4 blends (It will make all boondi small sizes and even. Don't overblend else it will not be able to hold the shape).
14) Now add the melon seeds, ilaichi powder and dry fruit chunks and give it a mix.
15) Now apply Ghee on ur palms and make laddoos....
And Yum Yum tasty Laddoos are ready... Let it be cool it will become firm and will hold its shape.
